INFERTILITY

Infertility is the inability of an adult mature organism to give birth to offspring. Human infertility. It is estimated that an average of 10% of all marriages are infertile. A marriage is called infertile when, after three years of married life, without using protective measures, the woman does not get pregnant. Infertility can be the result of pathological processes in the body of both men (about 30%) and women (about 30%). A man may not be able to conceive even if he is able to have intercourse. The cause of male infertility can be a defect in the development of the genital organ (hypospadia and epispadia), aspermia, azoospermia, testicular tumors, chronic poisoning; alcohol and nicotine abuse have a particularly negative effect on the male reproductive system.

Female infertility is divided into primary infertility (when a woman has not had a single pregnancy) and secondary (occurring after previous births or abortions). Infertility can be absolute, when for various reasons pregnancy is not possible at all (no uterus, or it is not sufficiently developed, there are no defects in the development of the ovaries, genitals, etc.), and relative, when pregnancy is impossible for certain reasons, but it can be possible after these elimination of causes. The causes of female infertility are various. One of the more common causes is fallopian tube infertility, which is caused by the blockage of the fallopian tubes, which prevents male cells (sperm) from meeting with female cells (eggs) and, of course, fertilization. Fallopian tube infertility can occur due to gonorrhea, septic infection (after abortion), genital tuberculosis, etc.
