GYNECOLOGY
The word “gynecology” comes from the Greek word “gyne” – woman and “logos” – word, teaching. That is, gynecology is the science of women and their health. This science examines the diseases of a woman’s genital organs in different periods of her life – from sexual maturity, the period of the onset of menstrual function to the climax.
Gynecology primarily examines such types of female diseases as inflammatory diseases of the pelvic organs, cervical erosion, polyps, uterine myoma, endometriosis and others – it is the oldest science directly related to the extension of the human family.
